Safety and Apparel Ltd operates from 3 locations in New Zealand covering distribution, retails sales and services activities. Our business is responsible for or has influence over, the following types of activities.
The way in which we source and select our products, through the sending of products to our customers. Our transport activities, which includes the vehicle fleet and air travel. Our on-site activities, which includes the warehouse and office areas. This scope will be used to guide our thinking when considering significant environmental aspects.
It will remind us to think about the wider (off-site) view and help us to capture all significant aspects of our planning. This document will be used to guide our thinking when considering "significant environmental aspects", specifically, it will remind us to think about the wider (off-site) view from a "life cycle" perspective and help us to capture all significant aspects in our planning. This commitment is now a part of the process and philosophy of our company and its representatives.
All Safety and Apparel Ltd personnel are within the scope of the EMS along with employees through shared services with contractors working at Safety and Apparel Ltd's premises and all company visitors excluding customers visiting retails stores. Safety and Apparel Ltd personnel are excluded whilst they are outside of work.
The EMS covers all Safety and Apparel Ltd owned or leased premises and the activities undertaken within each site up to the property personnel. Examples of such exclusions are electrical substations and transformers.
It also covers all equipment and facilities in these premises except items owned by a third party unless operated by Safety and Apparel Ltd personnel. Examples of such exclusions are electrical substations and transformers.
The EMS includes consideration of the environmental impacts of the use and disposal of all Safety and Apparel products. Safety and Apparel Ltd encourages all its suppliers to operate with ethical practices around the Environment and human rights.
All Safety and Apparel Ltd owned or leased vehicles in the business are within the scope of the EMS however it excludes vehicles privately owned and used by contractors and employees.
Suppliers and Service Providers
The EMS does not cover the operations of our suppliers and service providers expect where the implementation of our environmental procurement policy applies. Improvements in supply chain operations and criteria used in tenders and the selection of suppliers and their products are also excluded.
The EMS does not cover employees who are temporarily or permanently working from home or from an alternative non Safety and Apparel Ltd site within New Zealand. Safety and Apparel Ltd does not publish its environmental aspects and impacts. Safety and Apparel Ltd works with its customers and suppliers by sharing its experiences and recommendations to help advance the efforts to improve sustainability internally and externally with its interested parties.
